Citigroup Launches Wealth Management Mobile App

Citigroup's latest digital offering allows clients to instantly connect with their relationship manager.
Citigroup has launched an iPhone application that combines banking, wealth management and money movement capabilities, while offering an updated suite of servicing and authentication features.
Aimed at US-based Citigold clients, the Citi Mobile App includes a range of “enhanced” log-in choices, including fingerprint, voice, and facial recognition, as well as PIN identification, in addition to a traditional password option.
Citi Mobile App's so-called “click to call” capabillity enables clients to instantly connect with their relationship manager, financial advisor or the bank's 24-hour service center.
Through the application's global transfers function, clients can “seamlessly” transfer funds globally between Citi bank accounts and make transfers between linked checking and brokerage accounts, using only an account number, the bank said in a statement.
Using the trading and investments feature of the application, clients can buy and sell equities, exchange-traded funds and mutual funds, effectively allowing them to initiate real-time trades from their iPhone. Very soon, Citigold clients will also be able to open a new brokerage account through the app, the bank added.
After engaging with approximately 2,500 clients over a five-month period, Citigroup's financial technology department refined the design of the application and prioritized capabilities based on clients' needs, the bank said.
“We co-created this product with our clients and deeply appreciate their time and input,” said Yolande Piazza, chief operating officer at Citigroup's fintech department, adding: “We will monitor engagement and feedback, improve in real-time and then expand to more clients and markets.”
