Citi Private Bank Builds Mexico Capabilities

The senior banker has worked at UBS, JP Morgan and Santander.
Citi Private Bank Latin America has appointed a former senior UBS figure to be the new market executive for its Mexico business.
Carlos Rodriguez Aspirichaga (main picture) will join Citi Private Bank Mexico; at UBS, he was a financial advisor in Miami, where he led cross-border strategies for complex, multijurisdictional Mexican families.
The previous incumbent, Sonia Romero-Garcia, will become investment counselor team lead for Citi Private Bank Mexico, reporting to Rodriguez Aspirichaga.
Before UBS, Rodriguez Aspirichaga spent eight years at JP Morgan Private Bank, leading the launch of the firm’s Mexico onshore private bank and advising UHNW clients from both the New York and Miami offices.
Earlier in his career, he served in senior leadership roles at Santander Private Bank, where he managed international wealth management teams, drove market expansion initiatives, and integrated global private banking platforms across the US, Latin America, and Asia.
Rodriguez Aspirichaga will join the US bank in early November.
