Citi Private Bank Adds To NY Team

The new private banker will mostly focus on the family office market.

Citi Private Bank has appointed Jon Blum, who joins at the end of the month and will be based in New York, reporting to Cesar Chicayban, head of the bank in the New York metro area.

Blum will mainly concentrate on family offices, working with the bank’s private capital group, according to a memo seen by this news service.

Prior to this, Blum worked at Citi’s global investor sales business, where he was a global relationship manager for nine years. In this role, Blum was responsible for hedge fund coverage across all markets products.

Before he joined the US bank, Blum was a managing director and the head of business development at Liberty Square Asset Management, where he was responsible for raising capital for the firm's international equity funds. Other career slots included being an MD at Morgan Stanley, where he developed the firm's Latin American equity sales business. Blum has also worked at Credit Suisse and JP Morgan.
