Citi Appoints Head Of Delaware Trust Business

Citi Private Bank has employed Jane Monahan as director and head of its Delaware Trust business.

Monohan is based in New Castle, DE, and reports to Pete Randazzo, US trust administration head.

Robert Laughlin, head of Citi Trust North America, said Monahan’s “extensive” US and international fiduciary experience is “well-aligned” with the firm’s global strategy. Her appointment will bolster its cross-border fiduciary expertise, he said.

Monahan joins from RBS Coutts Trust & Fiduciary Services, where she was executive vice president and managing director. There, she lead the firm’s fiduciary business in Geneva, Switzerland.

Prior to RBS Coutts, Monahan managed JP Morgan Private Bank’s fiduciary business in Geneva and was previously a fiduciary manager with JP Morgan Trust Company of Delaware.

An eight-strong Citi trust team has been based in New Castle since 2006, although the business has roots dating back to 1822, the firm said. Citi Trust’s first international trust company was founded in 1960.

In other recent developments, yesterday Citi added ultra high net worth private bankers and directors to its teams in Colorado and Texas.
