Chicago-Based Bank To Rebrand As CIBC Bank USA
The bank's parent company was acquired by CIBC in June.
Chicago-based Private Bank & Trust, whose parent company was acquired by Toronto-based CIBC as reported by this publication in June, will change its name to CIBC Bank USA, according to local media reports.
CIBC filed an application with the state’s regulatory body to change the bank’s name on August 11.
According to the reports, it is unknown whether the PrivateBank brand will remain in any capacity, which is synonymous in Chicago.
PrivateBank has more than 20 branches in the Chicago area, with lending offices in other markets around the country.
