Carne Group, which specializes in advising asset managers about how they should be run, has appointed Vanessa Barrett to its team of independent fund directors in the Cayman Islands.

Barrett, with more than 12 years’ experience in the hedge funds industry, is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland and has worked with Ernst & Young and UBS in several jurisdictions, including Bermuda, the Cayman Islands, the UK and US. She has served as a director on Cayman Islands funds since 2010 and has experience at senior management level with the alternative fund services division at UBS.

Barrett’s appointment brings the total number of independent fund directors in Carne’s Cayman office to five. The firm also announced it has recently moved to larger offices in the Grand Pavilion Commercial Center, as part of its ongoing expansion.
