Carne Adds Director To Caymans Team

Carne Global Financial Services has hired John Ackerley as a director within its Cayman Islands team. He joins fund directors Peter Heaps and Roisin Cater in providing governance services to Cayman-domiciled funds.
Ackerley has over 18 years of experience in the financial services industry and has worked on a wide range of fund structures for some of the leading names in investment management. Before joining Carne, John was working as a senior vice president with Maples Finance.
Ackerley came to the Cayman Islands with Butterfield Fund Services (now Butterfield Fulcrum), where he was responsible for the administration of a portfolio of investment funds. Before joining Maples Finance he worked for Rawlinson & Hunter/The Harbour Trust Co, where he focused on the provision of governance services to investment managers, primarily in the US market, and acted as a director to large investment funds. Before that, he was vice president at Bank of America Cayman, where he had overall responsibility for the client reporting team.
"We continue to grow our capacity to provide the professional level of fund governance and board-level oversight that the hedge fund investor community is coming to expect. It is important that funds are able to choose independent directors who have long track records in the fund management industry and can bring real value to their roles on fund boards," said Carne chief executive John Donohoe.
