Capital Guardian has brought in two new teams to its independent channel from Woodbury Services, after hiring a new director for the channel from Woodbury in June.

Ed Kirkland and Dianne Odom were both previously with Woodbury, which is the broker-dealer of The Hartford Financial Services Group, and have now joined Capital Guardian.

In June the firm appointed Brian Chapman as president for the independent channel. He was previously a regional vice president at Woodbury. He is based at Capital Guardian’s Charlotte, NC, headquarters and charged with growing the independent business nationally.

The firm said it had “capitalized on the current volatility in the broker-dealer marketplace, allowing it to grow its independent channel throughout the year.”
