Canadian HNW Advisor Appoints VP For Investment, Research

Richardson GMP, the Canadian high net worth advisor, has named Gareth Watson as vice president for investment management and research.
Watson has served various equity research roles for Scotia Capital Markets, where he worked from 2001 to 2005, after which he joined the portfolio advisory group of Scotia McLeod to focus on large cap Canadian equities.
Included in his new responsibilities will be the monitoring and analysis of daily, weekly, and monthly market performances and providing recommendations for asset allocations for the company's Cornerstone Portfolios. He has also taken on the role of corporate spokesperson.
Watson will be advising about 113 teams of financial advisors under the Richardson GMP. He reports directly to David Andrews, the director of the group.
