Canadian Asset Manager Hires Senior Portfolio Manager

Sprott Asset Management, the Canadian firm which manages discretionary accounts, mutual and hedge funds, has appointed Scott Colbourne as senior portfolio manager.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr Colbourne was a senior fixed income portfolio manager at TD Asset Management, where he was part of a team that managed all of the firm's active fixed income institutional, retail and private client assets, Sprott said in a statement.
Previously, Mr Colbourne was at AGF Funds, where he managed fixed income mandates and co-managed balanced funds.
“With Scott's hiring, along with the recent addition of Peter Loach as executive vice president of product development, we continue to attract top talent to our team as we work to expand and diversify our client solutions and product line-up," said James Fox, president of Sprott.
The firm appointed Mr Loach in December of last year; he joined Sprott from BMO Nesbitt Burns, where he held the position of managing director and vice president of investment fund research.
