CIBC Makes Senior Hires
North American financial institution CIBC welcomes new team members to its private wealth business.
CIBC has announced a series of new hires for its wealth management business.
They include Edward Kelly CPWA®, AIF®, BFA™, as managing director and business development officer in CIBC Private Wealth’s New York office. Kelly is a business development officer with 30 years of industry experience, the firm said in a statement.
In this role, Kelly will set strategies and practices that broaden relationships with individuals, families, foundations and endowments. Previously, he served as a executive vice president of wealth management sales at Orion Portfolio Services where he was responsible for overseeing sales and distribution. He also served as chair of the growth committee.
Other senior hires include Martha Lufkin as senior vice president and fiduciary advisor based in Boston, Massachusetts. With more than 30 years of experience as a fiduciary advisor, Lufkin will work with the firm’s wealth strategies and relationship teams to provide fiduciary expertise and trust administration support, including trust review and acceptance, trust modifications and review of other discretionary matters. She also lends her expertise to the firm’s fiduciary committees, the firm continued. Previously, Lufkin was a managing counsel for wealth management at BNY Mellon, National Association.
In addition, CIBC has hired Tanya Kulberg as managing director and market manager in San Francisco, California, bringing more than 25 years of wealth management experience to CIBC Private Wealth. She will work with high net-worth individuals and families on a range of financial needs. Kulberg will also partner with a team of professionals to deliver customized wealth strategies, including cash flow and liquidity management, customized complex credit, investment management and trust and estate planning. Prior to joining the firm, she served as a senior private banker at California Bank & Trust Private Bank, where she specialized in deposit, credit and investment solution tailored to high net worth individuals and their families.
Finally, CIBC appointed Keri Pankow as senior vice president and senior wealth strategist in CIBC Private Wealth’s San Francisco office. Pankow, who has over five years of industry experience, will work with relationship managers and clients to develop and implement estate and wealth transfer strategies as part of the firm’s integrated wealth management. Before joining the firm, she was an attorney at Plageman, Lund & Cannon where she practiced in the areas of estate planning, trust and estate administration, and taxation, the firm said.
