Broadridge Acquires Fiduciary Services, Intelligence Business From Thomson Reuters

Broadridge Financial Solutions, a provider of investor communications and technology solutions, has completed its acquisition of a Thomas Reuters Lipper unit.

New York-listed Broadridge Financial Solutions has acquired the fiduciary services and competitive intelligence unit from Thomson Reuters' Lipper division.

The deal, details of which were not disclosed, boosts Broadridge's offering with new global data and research capabilities.

Broadridge recently entered into a long-term content and brand licensing services agreement with Thomson Reuters Lipper, under which it will receive data on investment product classifications, pricing, performance, benchmarking, product asset positions and product flows.

“Adding these solutions to our well-established mutual fund and retirement business provides our clients and the industry with a comprehensive suite of compliance oversight, fee benchmarking and competitive intelligence solutions,” said president of Broadridge’s mutual funds and retirement solutions group, Gerard Scavelli.

The acquisition will see all associates from the Lipper unit, in Colorado, the UK and Poland, join Broadridge.
