Boston-Based Choate Absorbs Local Wealth Team

The firm has been adding team members and assets under management. As a result of the latest arrivals, it predicts that its AuM will surpass $7 billion.
Boston-based Choate said the team of professionals at Lowell Blake & Associates is joining its wealth management organization.
Also a Bostonian firm, LBA was founded more than 45 years ago.
The team comprises a total of five investment professionals and three client-focused members. A spokesperson for Choate said the entire LBA team has joined the move; it did not identify members by name.
The LBA team will continue servicing their existing clients while Choate clients will retain their current teams, Choate said in a statement.
Earlier this year, Choate added five partners and almost 20 attorneys and other professionals from Ropes & Gray to its wealth management group. After the Lowell Blake team and its clients join the firm, and based on market values as of October 24, 2023, Choate said it expects that its Choate Investment Advisors’ assets under management will grow to more than $7 billion.
