BlackRock Names New Canadian Head

BlackRock has named a new leader of its Canadian operations.
The US-listed asset management giant BlackRock has hired Marcia Moffat to head up its Canadian business. She will join the company in September as Noel Archard transitions out of the role.
Moffat will join BlackRock in Toronto from her position as founder and principal at Compasar Solutions – a management consulting firm that advises companies in the financial services industry, including those in the asset and wealth management segments. She is also a board member of Manulife Bank of Canada and Manulife Trust Company.
Previously, she worked for 12 years at Royal Bank of Canada, and, before that, was a corporate lawyer in the New York and Paris offices of Shearman & Sterling.
