Bessemer taps new advisor for San Francisco office

Trust co. hires veteran wealth consultant for pivotal West Coast
practice. Multifamily office Bessemer Trust has made former
Merrill Lynch advisor Richard Vandenberg Jr. principal of its San
Francisco office. He'll report to George Wilcox, head of
Bessemer's West Coast operations.
Considerable momentum
"We expect Rick to build upon Bessemer's already considerable
momentum in San Francisco, especially among families that seek to
steward their wealth across multiple generations," says Wilcox,
adding that San Francisco is important to Bessemer's long-term
growth strategy.
In his previous role as a wealth advisor in Merrill's
private-client group, Vandenberg was an advisor to
ultra-high-net-worth clients on the West Coast. He also helped
establish Goldman Sachs' private-client business in California
and the Pacific Northwest.
"Rick has had exceptional success building wealth management
practices, and has forged strong relation ships with prominent
families," says Wilcox.
New York-based Bessemer oversees about $48 billion in assets. In
addition to New York and San Francisco, the firm has offices in
Chicago, Miami, Washington, D.C., Los Angeles, Naples, Fla., Palm
Beach, Fla., Atlanta, Dallas, Wilmington, Del., Woodbridge, N.J.,
London and the Cayman Islands. -FWR
