Barclays Wealth Management names new product head

Lecocq leaves HSBC to help U.K. manager foster institutional orientation. As part of its drive to for growth by taking a more “institutionally-oriented” approach to private-client service, London-based Barclays Wealth Management has named Kevin Lecocq to run its newly integrated product group.

Lecocq had been head of European institutional-product sales at HSBC.

“[Lecocq’s] wide-ranging experience will be invaluable to us as we seek to bring institutional quality products to the retail market,” says Thomas Kalaris, Chief Executive, Barclays Wealthhead of Barclays’ wealth-management business. “[His] strong track record in sophisticated structured products across all asset classes combined with his leadership skills makes him a key force in driving our ambitions for the product office and for Barclays Wealth Management.”

Under Mr Lecocq's direction, Barclays Wealth Management’s product group will focus on product development and structuring, portfolio construction, investment research and investment management – in other words, all the usual stuff.

Before his time at HSBC, Lecocq held senior spots at North Bay Investment Management, Gen Re Securities and Deutsche Bank. –FWR
