Barclays has appointed Solomon Soquar as Head of Global Investments and Solutions (GI&S) at Wealth and Investment Management.

Barclays has appointed Solomon Soquar as head of global investments and solutions (GI&S) at its Wealth and Investment Management division.

He joined Barclays in 2011 and before that worked at Citi Private Bank where he was responsible for capital markets in the EMEA region.

"Following an extensive internal and external search I’m delighted that Solomon Soquar has agreed to head up GI&S at Barclays Wealth and Investment Management. In Solomon we have a values driven individual, with deep investment expertise and a strategic outlook to continue to build out our investment centre of excellence. His appointment is also testimony to the quality and depth of the internal talent pool at Barclays," said Akshaya Bhargava, chief executive, at Barclays Wealth and Investment Management.

Soquar reports into Akshaya Bhargava, the chief executive of Barclays Wealth and Investment Management, and takes up this role with immediate effect.
