Barclays Wealth is continuing its expansion plans with the addition of two private bankers to its high net worth business in UK and Ireland.

Peter Arkell and Fred Lane, both most recently at Credit Suisse, are to join as director and vice president respectively.

At Credit Suisse Arkell’s most recent role involved sourcing and managing entrepreneurial clients, while Lane managed wealth for private individuals with a focus on finance market professionals, in particular hedge fund managers and private equity individuals.

Both new appointees will be based in London and will join Barclays Wealth over the course of the next couple of months.

"The continuing expansion and strengthening of this division is an important step towards realising our growth ambitions within the high net worth space,” said Rory Gilbert, managing director and head of high net worth at Barclays Wealth’s UK & Ireland Private Bank.

Most recently Barclays Wealth said it was looking to double its roster of client-facing private bankers in Liverpool over the next three years in response to a growing client base in the region.
