Barclays Wealth Americas Continues Build Out With Senior Hires

Barclays Wealth continues to build out its Americas operations and has named Donald Gershuny general counsel and Peter Reynolds chief risk officer. Barclays has also named Caroline Simko managing director and head of global research and investments marketing. All are based in New York.

Gershuny was most recently general counsel for Global Wealth Management at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. He has more than four decades of experience in financial services.

Reynolds joins from RBS Americas where he was head of regulatory risk and compliance. Prior to that, he worked at Citigroup for a decade in several risk positions including global head of risk and control for the private bank.

"The Americas region is a key area of growth for Barclays Wealth and having legal talent commensurate with the plans for the business is critical," Duncan Perry, global general counsel for Barclays Wealth, said in a statement.

Simko, also based in New York, is responsible for leveraging Barclays intellectual capital and tailored global product offering in support of client service, business development and strategy. She joins from AllianceBernstein where she headed marketing for Bernstein Global Wealth Management since 2002.

The appointments are the latest round of senior hires at Barclays Wealth in the Americas. Earlier this week David Lewis was named head of banking for the Americas.
