Barclays Continues To Expand UHNW Team In California

The wealth and investment management division of Barclays has expanded its team in Los Angeles.
The wealth and investment management division of Barclays has added Matthew Celenza and Larry DiGioia as investment representatives within its Los Angeles, CA office, reporting to managing director and regional manager Brian Sears.
Celenza and DiGioia join Barclays from Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management, where they served ultra high net worth individuals and their families, the firm said.
The pair have a combined 40 years of experience managing portfolios and providing wealth management advice, including asset allocation, customized credit solutions, risk management, trust and estate planning and philanthropic services. In 2008, they founded The Wilshire Group - a team catering for UHNW individuals and families.
Celenza, a managing director, brings 15 years of wealth management experience to Barclays; between 1998 and 2001 he worked at Morgan Stanley, subsequently moving to Citi Family Office in Los Angeles. After that, he served UHNW clients as a private wealth advisor at Morgan Stanley and Smith Barney.
Meanwhile, DiGioia, a director, has 23 years of wealth management experience. He started his career in 1987 with Lehman Brothers, later serving UHNW clientele at Merrill Lynch. In his new role, he focuses on the customization of strategies for UHNW individuals.
Regional manager Sears joined Barclays 18 months ago from Neuberger Berman, where he was global co-head of distribution for alternative investments, and has since doubled the size of the office, the firm said.
In the past six months, the following UHNW advisors have joined Barclays' LA office: Lisa Amster from Goldman Sachs; Audra Lalley from Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management; Mark Lindee from Wells Fargo; and Kevin Monaco, David Garfin and Scott Madison from Credit Suisse.
