Barclays Boosts Los Angeles Team With Macquarie Private Banking Boss

Barclays Wealth and Investment Management has appointed Jay O'Neil to drive growth in Los Angeles.
Barclays has hired Macquarie Bank's Jay O'Neil as managing director and regional manager for wealth and investment management in Los Angeles.
O'Neil, who brings over 14 years' experience in the wealth management industry, joins from his position as head of private bank at Macquarie Bank. He was formerly at Merrill Lynch, where he supervised a team of financial advisors supporting clients across 92 countries.
In his new role, O'Neil will implement and develop Barclays' strategy in Los Angeles. He will report to Bill Scherr, Barclays' managing director and West Coast regional head.
“Jay’s extensive wealth management and leadership experience underscores our continued commitment to hiring experienced professionals to support our clients in the region and our colleagues in the Los Angeles office,” said Barclays' head of wealth and investment management, Americas, Tom Lee, in a statement.
