Bank Of America Hires Technology Luminary From Morgan Stanley

Bank of America has named George Sherman as its new chief technology officer for global banking and markets and global commercial banking, a role in which he will be responsible for strategy, architecture, design and build, operations, product management and project delivery of the technology infrastructure supporting the businesses.

Sherman latterly worked at Morgan Stanley, where he was director, chief technology officer of the bank’s Americas enterprise infrastructure organization. He also served as the global head of the bank's enterprise telecommunications, entitlements solutions and technology business development teams, responsible for data centres, servers and hosting, desktop support and enterprise applications.

Sherman will join BoA in September and will be based in New York reporting to Marc Gordon, the bank’s chief technology officer.

“His [Sherman’s] experience in the global markets arena will position our team to work more closely with our business partners to ensure an excellent client and customer experience and strengthen our operations across the globe. The addition of George to our team will propel our efforts to deliver the full capabilities of the bank to our customers and clients,” Gordon said in a statement.
