Bahamas, Japan Sign Tax Agreement

The Bahamas and Japan have signed a tax information exchange agreement, making it the Caribbean island-nation’s twenty-third TIEA agreement in total.

The TIEA with Japan provides for cooperation in the prevention of fiscal evasion and for the allocation of taxation right with the respect to income, bringing tax relations between the countries in line with international standards.

The Bahamas has TIEAs with: Canada, Germany, Australia, Spain, Denmark, the Faroes, Finland, Greenland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Mexico, Belgium, France, the Netherlands, Argentina, New Zealand, the UK and Northern Ireland, San Marino, Monaco and the US.
