BNY Says Q3 2026 Net Income Higher

The New York-headquartered group became the latest major US financial firm to report its third-quarter results.

BNY yesterday reported that its net income, applicable to common shareholders, rose 20 per cent year-on-year in the third quarter of 2026, reaching $1.608 billion.

Total fee revenue rose 12 per cent, and noninterest expenses rose 8 per cent, the US-listed group said in a statement.

Assets under custody and administration stood at $63.4 trillion, a rise of 10 per cent; assets under management rose 2 per cent to $2.2 trillion at the end of September, BNY said.

The rise in AuM, which mainly reflected the rising market, was partly offset by cumulative outflows and the negative impact of a stronger dollar, it said.

BNY’s Common Equity Tier 1 ratio was 10.9 per cent, against 11.7 per cent a year before. During the third quarter, the group returned $1.4 billion of capital to common shareholders.

Since the start of 2026, shares in the group have risen about 22 per cent.

Business areas include securities services, market and wealth services, investment and wealth management.
