BNY Mellon Wealth Management Opens Its First Northern Virginia Location

The top-tier financial services firm has opened a new facility in Tysons Tower, adding two professionals to a team as part of the move.

BNY Mellon Wealth Management has opened its first Northern Virginia location: a 4000-square-foot office in Tysons Tower.

The US financial services group has also hired two new professionals to join a five-member team based in the location. Virginia residents Tom Troxell joined as a wealth director and Rohit Punyani serves as a wealth manager. The Tysons team reports to Washington regional president Susan Traver, it said in a statement yesterday.

“Northern Virginia is a key wealth market and our experienced team in Tysons enables us to better serve current clients and grow our client base throughout the region. We’re starting with five professionals and intend to add eight more as we grow over the next couple of years,” Traver said.

Prior to joining BNY Mellon, Punyani served as a relationship manager with West Financial Services in McLean, Virginia, and as chief investment officer for Pagnato Karp, a multi-family office. Previously he served as a senior portfolio officer with Wilmington Trust.

Troxell previously served as CEO of Grace Thomas Designs. Prior to that he served for seven years as regional market manager for private banking at Citibank Private Bank where he led a team of 40 professionals serving high net worth individuals. From 1997 to 2007 he was managing director for client acquisition with Wachovia Wealth Management in southern Connecticut and suburban New York. The Tysons office also includes wealth directors Ben Rodgers and Camille Alexander and mortgage banker Bob Dail. Traver divides her time between Tysons and the firm’s downtown D.C. office.

A few days' ago, BNY Mellon appointed Brian Moroz as regional director for private banking serving clients in New York, Western Connecticut, New Jersey and Long Island. Moroz is based in New York and reports to William E Johnston, head of the firm’s private banking solutions group.
