BNY Mellon WM Names New Head Of Equities, Capital Markets Advisory

The appointee moves into a vacancy brought about by her predecessor being made global head of BNY Mellon Investor Solutions.

BNY Mellon Wealth Management has named Alicia Levine as its new head of equities, capital markets advisory and vice chair of its wealth management investment committee.

Levine succeeds Sinead Colton Grant, who has been made global head of BNY Mellon Investor Solutions. Levine will oversee the Large Cap US Equity, Equity Trading and Capital Markets Advisory groups. She is based in New York and reports to Leo Grohowski, BNY Mellon Wealth Management chief investment officer.

In 2016 Levine joined the firm, and most recently served as the chief strategist and managing director of BNY Mellon Investment Management. She served as one of the firm’s external voices for market analysis and investment outlooks. She has appeared in various media outlets including CNBC, Bloomberg, Fox Business, Barron’s, CNN, Wall Street Journal, and the Financial Times. Prior to joining the firm, she served as director of communications at Angelo, Gordon and Co, a multi-strategy alternative asset manager. Prior to this, she held various positions, including research analyst and portfolio manager at Bentley Capital Management.

Levine earned a Bachelor of Arts from Brown University and a Master of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Chicago. She was awarded a pre-doctoral fellowship from Stanford University, a post-doctoral fellowship from Harvard University and a research fellowship from the Hoover Institution. She is a voluntary member of the Investment Committee for the National Academy of Design, which promotes art and architecture in America through exhibition and instruction. 

Among recent moves, BNY Mellon Wealth Management appointed Crystal Thompkins as head of philanthropic solutions. In late May it appointed Camille Alexander as head of sales, investor solutions, a newly-created role.
