BNY Mellon's Newton Capital Management Gets North America Head

BNY Mellon has named Jim Wylie as head of North America at its Newton Capital Management division - a newly-created role at the firm.

BNY Mellon has named Jim Wylie as head of North America at its Newton Capital Management division - a newly-created role at the firm.

Based in New York, Wylie will lead and develop the firm’s North American distribution and client servicing business, reporting to Helena Morrissey, chief executive of Newton Investment Management.

Wylie - who, subject to regulatory approval, will also become a board member - will also lead Newton's current team of US-based sales, distribution and client service professionals.

Wylie is latterly of Turner Investment Partners, where he was chief marketing officer and executive managing director. In that role, he monitored Turner’s revenue and assets under management, developed new investment strategies and managed the global institutional, consultant relations, private client and client relationship teams. Before that, Wylie worked at Acadian Asset Management as head of global sales and executive vice president.

Newton Capital Management is the London-based global asset management subsidiary of BNY Mellon, with around $85.6 billion in assets under management, as at December 31, 2013. The firm provides investment products and services to individuals, pension funds, charities and corporations.

Newton Investment Management encompasses BNY Mellon's affiliated investment management firms, wealth management services and global distribution companies.
