BNP Paribas WM Names Head Of International, Asian Markets

The head of international and other Asian markets position at BNP Paribas Wealth Management has been filled by an internal candidate, who will be based in Singapore, starting January 2013.
The head of international
and other Asian markets position at BNP Paribas Wealth Management
has been
filled by an internal candidate, who will be based in Singapore,
starting January 2013.
Eric
Aubin replaces Eric Morin,
who resigned from the French bank after over 20 years with the
firm, in order
to take up the role as head of Southeast
Asia at
Sarasin early next year, as previously reported by this
publication.
Aubin will oversee and
grow the private banking business in international and other
Asian markets,
reporting to
Mignonne Cheng, chairman and chief executive of BNP Paribas
Wealth
Management Asia Pacific, said the firm in a statement.
Currently, Aubin is global
head of wealth planning solutions,
BNP Paribas Wealth Management, based in Paris, where he
manages the international wealth planning
teams based in 13 locations across Asia, Europe,
and the Middle-East.
Aubin has been with BNP
Paribas for almost 20 years, throughout his career holding
various senior positions
in Asia and Paris.
Previous roles include: deputy chief executive of BNP Paribas
Wealth Management
Hong Kong; head of development Asia, based in Hong Kong; and head
of private
equity advisory based in Paris.

strategy to grow our business in Asia Pacific,” said Cheng of his
appointment.
BNP Paribas has strengthened its Asia-Pacific wealth management
with a number of senior hires recently. Brian Kenyon was
appointed regional head of wealth planning
solutions for Asia-Pacific in August, based in Singapore; Berry
Wong
joined BNP Paribas Wealth Management in early October as regional
head
of wealth planning services, Asia-Pacific, reporting to Kenyon;
Anton
Wong was appointed head of key clients group, Asia-Pacific, in
early
October, based in Hong Kong, Angela Yang joined BNP Paribas
Wealth
Management in July as key clients solutions manager, reporting to
Wong. In
October, Samir Bimal has joined BNP Paribas Wealth Management
India as
Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of BNP Paribas
Investment
Services India Private Limited.
Amongst the heavyweight new
joiners earlier this year include Ivan Ching (China) Alex Xu
(China),
Louisa Yau (Hong Kong) and Akshay Jaitly (Non Resident Indians,
North
Asia), all are team heads of bank's China, Hong Kong and NRI,
North Asia
wealth management platforms.
BNP Paribas Wealth
Management is the world’s 7th largest private bank, with a
presence in over 30
countries. The bank has €265 billion (around $343 billion) worth
of assets
under management.
