The team reportedly worked previously at Canada's CI Financial.

BMO Global Asset Management has added a new global equity team of 13 personnel. 

A report by Bloomberg said they had all worked at Canada’s CI Financial, although BMO GAM’s press release made no reference to their work background.

The Toronto-based team will partner with BMO GAM's product, sales, and investment groups to develop products and solutions.

The equity team are among the latest of more than 50 investment professionals who have recently joined BMO GAM in key growth areas including equities, bonds, quantitative investing, responsible investing, ETFs, alternatives, and trading.

The team consists of the following people:

-- Malcolm White – portfolio manager, technology; 
-- Jeremy Yeung – portfolio manager, technology; 
-- John Hadwen – portfolio manager, financials; 
-- Massimo Bonansinga – portfolio manager, industrials, defense, and infrastructure; 
-- Hoa Hong – portfolio manager, energy and resources; 
-- Goshen Benzaquen – portfolio manager, financials; 
-- Kyle Mendyk – associate portfolio manager, financials; 
-- Janice Wong – associate portfolio manager, industrials and infrastructure; 
-- Alex Yang – associate portfolio manager, utilities, industrials and infrastructure; 
-- Alexander Payne – analyst, consumer discretionary and staples; 
-- Shawna McIntee – trader, global equity; and 
-- Edward-Durrant Taylor – client portfolio manager, global equity.
