BMO Global Asset Management (EMEA) has appointed Phil Webster as portfolio manager to its European equities team, joining from Aberdeen Asset Management, where he worked for over a decade.

Most recently, Webster was senior investment manager on the pan-European equities team at UK-listed Aberdeen.

In his new role, Webster will support colleagues across the pan-European fund range. This includes, amongst others, the F&C European Equity Fund, the F&C European Growth & Income Fund, the F&C UK Mid-Cap Fund and the F&C European Small Cap Fund, BMO said in a statement.

The firm’s European equities team is led by David Moss. It manages around £3.5 billion (as of 17 May) and consists of 12 investment professionals with expertise across industries.

The firm is part of BMO Financial Group, founded in the early 19th Century as Bank of Montreal.
