Amundi Appoints Iberia Boss

The European asset manager is making a change at the top of its Iberian business.

Amundi has appointed Marta Marin Romano as chief executive of Iberia.

Romano, based in Madrid, was most recently global head of multichannel in the retail and commercial banking division at Santander, a role she held since 2013. Previously, she worked at Banesto, successively as head of retail product development, head of AgroBanesto and head of iBanesto.com.

She replaces Didier Turpin, who will move to another role within Amundi. Details of that role have not yet been confirmed.

As reported last week, Amundi is bringing together its capabilities in real and alternative assets in one platform, with plans to double the €34 billion ($38 billion) in assets that it already manages in this area by 2020. Amundi has over €1 trillion in assets under management worldwide.
