Active Allocator Creates Role Of Chairman

The US-based fintech start-up has made another addition to its management team.

Active Allocator has appointed Bob Froehlich to the new role of chairman of the board of directors.

Froehlich, based in Chicago, brings 40 years of industry experience. He has chaired investment strategy committees for multiple asset management organizations and has authored six investment books which have been translated into ten languages. From 2002 to 2009, Froehlich served as vice chairman of Deutsche Asset Management. He then spent three years as a senior executive with The Hartford Mutual Funds. Since his retirement in 2012, he has served on boards spanning private, public, mutual fund and not-for-profit companies.

"He has the rare distinction of a distinguished professional career combining experience in both the public and private sectors. His financial services industry knowledge, particularly in the area of retail investor behavior and motivation is unmatched. This unique insight and perspective has been developed visiting over 5,000 retail brokerage offices and meeting with over 100,000 financial advisors during his career,” said Sameer Jain and Helen Zhai, Active Allocator’s co-founders.

The appointment follows that of Brian Jones who became Active Allocator’s chief financial officer and director last week.

Also last week, the firm launched its online asset allocation and portfolio construction portal for financial advisors, allowing them to include traditional, illiquid and alternative investments in portfolios.
