Aberdeen Bolsters Philadelphia Base, Plans More Hires

UK-listed
Aberdeen Asset Management has hired Melissa Reagan as head of property research for the Americas, in a bid to boost the firm’s US presence.

Reagan will be based in Philadelphia and report to Andrew Allen, Aberdeen’s director of global research. She will join a research and strategy team that after her inclusion on 20 July comprises 13 individuals in eight countries.

Only a fraction of Aberdeen’s $30 billion property-portfolio is US-related, something the company is looking to change with the appointment. The company confirmed that it is planning to make more additions to its Philadelphia office later this year.

Reagan joins from LaSalle Investment Management, where she worked as lead strategist on a multifamily portfolio and guided the company’s $2 billion property fund.

Aberdeen managed £181.2 billion (about $290 billion) in client assets at the end of March this year.
