Harriet Davies Editor - Family Wealth Report June 1, 2012

The
CFA Institute announced that a “record” number of professionals will sit the CFA exams this weekend, with 149,954 candidates from 169 countries registering for the levels one, two and three exams.

The number of program candidates rose by 5 per cent for this fiscal year, with 219,642 exam registrations, the Institute said, and for the June exams registrations were up 3 per cent. The CFA program celebrated its fiftieth anniversary this week.

Asia Pacific demonstrated the biggest appetite for the qualification, accounting for 43 per cent of registrants for the June exam. The Americas made up 35 per cent of candidates and EMEA accounted for 22 per cent of the total.

“CFA Institute recently kicked off its year-long celebration of 50 years of the CFA Program, and we have called on our members to take personal responsibility to restore investor trust and reconnect with the public interest,” said John Rogers, president and chief executive.
